The mayor has made the decision that K-8 schools will pivot to remote instruction on Monday, Jan. 26. Stay warm, stay safe.
Teachers have been ordered to develop three days of lessons should schools be closed for in-person learning due to potential bad weather.
The closure will affect 1,100 of the city's schools. High schools and 6-12 schools were already scheduled to be off.
Superintendent Ryan Scallon told parents on Saturday that this would only be an option for some primary and secondary school students.
After a threat was made Wednesday morning, leaders at Wake Preparatory Academy decided to use that day for remote learning.
